Dream Alive Kenya CBO was established in December 2021 and formally registered in July 2023 to extend our reach and deepen our community impact. Our mission is to empower women and youth with the tools and resources they need to reach their full potential and lead dignified, purpose-driven lives.
We involve our beneficiaries actively at every stage of our empowerment processes. By giving them leadership in their own transformation journey, we cultivate skills, nurture confidence, and establish sustainability. We train women to be bold, innovative, and resilient. We also engage local community members such as spouses, administrators, and leaders to create a supportive ecosystem. Support is also extended to male beneficiaries when necessary, recognizing the holistic nature of family well-being.
To create opportunities that reshape destinies for women and youth.
To empower women and youth to overcome challenges and sustain their achievements.
This program nurtures godliness, responsibility, and character in girls and young women. It addresses challenges like peer pressure, lack of confidence, and limited opportunities by providing mentorship and support. Outcomes include higher school retention, career readiness, entrepreneurship, and reduced risk behaviors. Graduates become mentors, forming a chain of positive influence.
DAK collaborates with schools to distribute sanitary products (panties, pads, bras), learning materials, and dry food. This initiative boosts confidence, hygiene, and school attendance. It also nourishes students for better concentration and participation. Mentorship offered during visits builds student morale and aspirations.
Women are trained in beadwork, crocheting, and mat making. Beyond skills, they learn bookkeeping and are linked to buyers. This project also fosters community, peer support, and shared learning through mentorship and collaboration.
DAK advocates for the inclusion of the deaf through community sensitization, free interpretation services, and sign language training. We also organize family fun days to foster a sense of belonging and dignity.
DAK offers psychosocial support, health services, and social engagement to widows and the elderly. This program fosters dignity, advocacy, and access to essential services for these often-overlooked groups.
As an alternative to drought-stricken pastoralism, DAK introduced irrigation farming. Our water pan sustains crops across 10 acres, helping families feed themselves and earn income. The farm serves as a training and demonstration site for sustainable agriculture.
In partnership with NTSA, DAK educates boda boda riders on safe practices. Reducing accidents lessens emotional and financial burdens on women and families, promoting safety and economic resilience.
